Bailly Elementary!

Word of the week : Boundaries – a point at which something ends.

Quote of the week

Kindergarten LA:

Welcome kindergartners! This week we learned how our classroom works and we did a "getting to know you" worksheet. We also worked on a rhyming worksheet that was lots of fun! They are really sweet kids, I can't wait to work with them more!

Kindergarten Math:

Welcome kindergartners! This week we learned how our classroom works and we did a "getting to know you" worksheet. We also did some fun math games together. I can't wait to move with them more!

First Grade Math:

This week we finished up measuring our cut outs, they had so much fun with this project! All the kids are enjoying looking at my first grader cut outs when they walk into my room too! We've talked more about the different types of measurement like cm/inches and standard/non-standard. I sent home a worksheet for them to bring back next week!

First Grade LA:

This week Emmersynn read the book Alphabeasties. She is really liking the typeface lesson and books that go along with it. She picked a letter to write a story and illustration about which she will finish up next week!

Happy Birthday Emmersynn!

Second Grade Math:

This week we worked on Tangrams & Archimedes. They had a lot of fun solving the puzzles and making pictures out of the shapes.

Second Grade LA:

This week we wrote mini book reports on the books they've read in class. Next week they will practice giving a book report to the class. We also voted this week on a book we will read together and we will invite secret guest speakers to come into our classroom! The votes are in and our next book will be (insert drum roll here!)....
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Chris Riddell!
If you would like to be a guest speaker and you are available on Monday's at 1:30 pm, please let me know!

Third Grade Math:

This week we made some more progress on our timed math multiplication tests! Mr. Zeck has approved an ice cream party celebration when we've all completed the test! We also worked on a Math Super Hero Comic Book problem, it was a real hit!

Third Grade LA:

This week we worked on fairy tale grammar. Each kid picked a fairy tale and picked out verbs then we did a worksheet on making the verb into past tense, present tense and future tense. They liked working together and acting out those action verbs!

Fourth Grade Math:

This week we worked on a new packet called a Super Hero Math Comic. You read the story and solve the math puzzle. We made it into a contest to see who could finish first! Next week we will do another one and we're going to brush up on our timed math tests.

Fourth Grade LA

This week the kids gave their biography presentations on "Men & Women Who Changed the World". They did a great job, they are getting more comfortable with public speaking. These were so much fun because they really sparked some interesting conversations like who was the first astronaut to golf on the moon?
Next week we will do a vocab map about pet names. (please see pictures below)
