News for the week of May 16, 2016!

Bailly Elementary!

Word of the week
Accomplishment – a skill or talent that has been developed successfully. The high ability classes have certainly accomplished so much in our classroom!

Quote of the week: "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard". -Winnie the Pooh

This was the week I dreaded for awhile... saying goodbye to favorite 55 Bailly Leaners! I'm thankful to have gotten to know and work with each of them. We had a CrAzY week with special schedules for the Bailly's Got Talent Show, NWEA testing, class plays and field trips. We made the best of our last week together finishing up lessons and doing Mr. Zeck's "special assignment". One of my high ability thinkers noted that you can't really write this assignment because, "with technology changing, the job market will be different by the time he enters the work force." Good point! These kids are out of the box thinkers, I've enjoyed being stumped by them every single day!

Kindergarten Math:

This week we finished up our favorite color research, it was so much fun! We also completed Mr. Zeck's assignment "What I want to do when I grow up" and put them in his mailbox!

Just a quick reminder the last day for high ability services is Thursday, May 19th!

Looking for something fun to keep your kids busy this summer? Camp Invention offered at Liberty Intermediate School.  Their curriculum is new each and every year to ensure participants have a dynamic and memorable summer experience!  It's only five days, but an all day program.  It's a bit pricey, but worth it if you have a real science minded child!
