Hello HA families!
This week has been full of pre-assessments.
Each year, math students have taken a pre-assessment on the upcoming unit. This year, for the first time, ELA students also took a pre-assessment. Some students will only get one or two answers correct. That is ok!! I reassure them that it is perfectly fine if they don't know the answers. It's not that they are not smart...they just don't know it YET!! The fun part of the pre-assessments is that they will take the exact same test at the end of the year and I will staple it to their original test. It's amazing to see how much they grow throughout the year! The kids always enjoy looking back at the questions they didn't know and some of their answers.
Students who were absent during testing week may not get a chance to make them up. We did our best to get them in, but don't want to take extra time away from their classroom work. Next week, we will dive in to learning!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!
